The Mexico home credit division of International Personal Finance (IPF) has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UN Women, underscoring the Group's commitment to advancing gender equality and financial inclusion in one of its largest markets. By aligning with the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a set of guidelines for advancing gender equality, IPF joins the ranks of global leaders such as EY, Danone, PayPal and Mastercard.
With more than 90% of Provident Mexico’s customer representatives and nearly 70% of its customer base being women, this partnership marks a significant milestone in IPF's responsible business journey and will ensure a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
The collaboration will deliver impact across three priority areas:
David Parkinson, Country Manager of Mexico home credit said: “At Provident, we believe in gender equality and the transformative power of financial inclusion. This agreement with UN Women allows us to strengthen our internal policies and support women entrepreneurs on their path to economic autonomy.”
Moni Pizani Orsini, Representative of UN Women in Mexico, added: “Investing in the economic empowerment of women paves a direct path to a sustainable future for everyone. UN Women and Provident will work together to advance the financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs and gender equality in Mexico.”
