IPF’s consumer credit business in Poland, Provident Polska, has celebrated its 25th anniversary since it served its first loan to customers in this market.
The silver jubilee was an opportunity for the business to celebrate its important role in Polish society and reflect on the changes in Poles' finances that have taken place in recent years. Over the past quarter of a century, the needs of our customers in Poland have evolved, technology have progressed significantly and the coronavirus pandemic also influenced how businesses interact with customers.
In 1997, when Provident Polska served its first loans to customers, queues at bank counters were part of everyday life, and many Poles received their salaries in cash. Now Poland is a modern financial market and Provident Polska has evolved to offer a far broader selection of consumer lending products from home credit to digital loans and a range of home, life and medical insurances.
To celebrate the 25 year milestone, Provident Polska also launched the unique ‘Mother’s House’ project that is supporting women with children who face difficult life challenges and have been forced to leave their home.
“Our role in Poland is essential. Over the years, we've worked hard to financially include people in the financial mainstream who would have otherwise been ignored by many lenders,” said Country Manager of Provident Polska, Agnieszka Kłos-Siddiqui. “We have also been actively involved in hundreds of social activities supporting our local communities, promoting financial education, engaging in environmental initiatives and campaigning for equality in business. The launch of our Mother’s House this year is another great example of our long-term support for our communities.
