Two of International Personal Finance plc’s home credit businesses based in Poland and Romania have made donations of more than £110,000 to support hospital efforts in protecting patients during the Covid-19 crisis.
Our teams at Provident Financial Romania made a donation of £95,000 (500,000 lei) to the Daruieste Viata (Give Life Association) to help build a hospital for people affected by the Corona Virus. Some of the funds were also used to equip hospitals across Romania with protective equipment.
Poland’s leading home credit operator Provident Polska, together with its insurance partner Axa, donated around £20,000 (100K PLN) to five hospitals serving small towns and rural areas across Poland. These funds are being used to help the hospitals buy medical equipment for intensive care units as well as personal protective equipment to protect health workers. Provident Polska and Axa made the donation using some of the funds originally intended for their joint community travelling cinema initiative which was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In these difficult and challenging times, the best thing we can do is help each other and offer support in the best way each of us can,” said Elena Ungureanu, Communications Manager at Provident in Romania. “Our donation is our way of contributing to overcoming this challenging situation which has changed all of our lives. We are proud we can be a part of this and hopefully make a difference.”
