Provident Mexico’s CSR activities recognised for twelfth consecutive year

Provident Mexico, one of Mexico’s leading providers of home credit and part of International Personal Finance (IPF), is delighted to announce it has been presented with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award for the twelfth consecutive year, reflecting its outstanding long-term commitment to CSR activities.

The award, adjudicated by the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (ALIARSE), recognises Provident’s achievements in providing a supportive workplace with a robust employee code of conduct and a commitment to community engagement and sustainable environment policies.

Provident Mexico’s flagship CSR programme, “Causas” (Causes) works to support and empower the communities in which it operates through initiatives focussed on financial education, local investment and environmental protection. Since the programme’s launch, Provident Mexico has supported over 30 not-for-profit organisations and continues to raise significant donations through the annual Provident Football Tournament.

In recent years, the company has expanded the reach and scope of its financial education initiatives. Last year more than 40,000 people took part in its ‘Let’s Talk Money’ workshops, which offer classes to educate young people and their families on how to better manage their personal finances.

Robert Husband, Country Manager at Provident Mexico, said: “We are delighted to win this award for the twelfth year running which recognises that Provident Mexico remains committed to developing local engagement programmes with a positive, long-term impact, and empowers people to make educated choices over their financial affairs.”

As of 31 March 2017 Provident Mexico had 844,000 customers and credit issued increased year-on-year by 20%.
