Provident Mexico recognised as a socially responsible company

Provident Mexico, a leading provider of home credit and part of International Personal Finance (IPF), is delighted to announce it has been recognised as a leading Socially Responsible Company.

This award, featuring in the Quality of Life category, recognises companies which operate inclusive gender employment policies and a supportive work environment. Companies must also demonstrate their support of career progression and access to training for all their employees. The award was presented at a ceremony attended by Juan Pablo Kuri, president of the Economic Development Commission and Victor Mata, Secretary of Economic Development, on behalf of Puebla City and the Municipal Institute for Women.

In addition to supporting its employees, Provident works with the community through its award-winning flagship corporate responsibility programme, Causas, to promote financial inclusion.

This latest recognition follows the award for CSR bestowed on Provident Mexico earlier this year by the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (ALIARSE), for twelfth consecutive year.

Robert Husband, Country Manager of Provident Mexico, said: “We are proud Provident has been recognised as a socially responsible company. We invest in the business with skilled, motivated and knowledgeable employees and agents who deliver the strategy and ensure our customers are served to the best of our ability.”

For the six months ended 30 June 2017, Provident Mexico had 841,000 customers and credit issued increased 20% to £131.2M.
