Provident Hungary voted the Financial Service Provider of the Year in Eastern and Central Europe

Provident Hungary, part of International Personal Finance (IPF), is delighted to have been voted the Financial Service Provider of the Year in Eastern and Central Europe.

Provident Hungary received the accolade from ACQ Magazine, an influential business journal, which runs annual awards to recognise outstanding organisations and leading executives. In particular, Provident was recognised for its strong performance and innovative ways of working.

A leading provider of home credit, Provident Hungary has served over 1.3 million customers since launching in October 2001 and celebrated its 15th anniversary last year. The company is one of largest employers in Hungary, with over 3,500 people, including its home credit agents who meet customers in their homes in more than 3,000 communities across the country.

The leadership of Provident Hungary was further celebrated with Country Manager, Botond Szirmák, receiving the magazine’s “Gamechanger of the Year” award in acknowledgement of his outstanding strategic leadership of the Hungarian business.

In line with IPF’s growth strategy, Provident Hungary has a strong focus on delivering efficiencies as well as successful product diversification to attract new and retain existing customers, including monthly repayment plans and optional personal accident protection services.

This is the latest in a number of award wins for Provident Hungary. In August it was named a Hungarian Superbrand and one of the country’s leading consumer brands for the fourth consecutive year.

Botond Szirmak, Country Manager of Provident Hungary, commented: “It is an exceptional achievement for us to have received this internationally recognised award. To be named the Financial Service Provider of the Year in Eastern and Central Europe reflects the trust placed in the business by both customers and business leaders.”

Gerard Ryan, CEO of IPF said: “Provident Hungary continues to deliver and this award reflects this. Since we launched Provident Hungary 15 years ago we have issued over 5 million loans with excellent customer satisfaction. We have an experienced management team in place that is well positioned to deliver continued success.”

For the six months ended 30 June 2016, IPF’s Southern European business, which includes Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, had 665,000 customers and credit issued increased year-on-year by 22%.
