Provident Financial Romania wins Superbrand recognition and scoops prestigious industry awards

Provident Financial Romania (‘Provident’), one of the country’s leading providers of home credit and part of International Personal Finance (IPF), is delighted to announce a series of prestigious award wins in recent months, including being named a Romanian Superbrand as one of the country’s leading consumer brands.

Provident was awarded the title by the Superbrands Committee, which runs an annual programme to identify and celebrate the most recognised and respected brands in the country. The award puts Provident Romania amongst an elite group of businesses, with past winners including Visa, Samsung and Mercedes-Benz.

Founded in 2004, the prize is awarded by an independent panel of high-profile marketing professionals and business leaders. In addition to drawing on a variety of customer and brand-focused criteria, such as market research and public polls, the panel also considered factors such as sustainability, risk management, corporate responsibility and innovation to make their final decision. Provident’s distinctive brand was highly commended in the categories of trust, leadership and dynamism.

Since entering the Romanian market in 2006, Provident has built a high-profile brand that is synonymous with responsible lending and financial inclusion throughout its core business activities and community investment. Today, customer retention stands at more than 70% showing Provident’s customers value the convenience and quality service that the company provides.

In addition to this, the company was recently recognised for its innovative approach to Marketing and PR by the International Advertising Association Romania (IAA Romania), the Union of Advertising Agencies of Romania (UAPR) and the Golden Hammer International Festival. In particular, they noted Provident’s constant innovation in communication and product design to remain a relevant and important provider in the consumer finance market.

“To be named as a Superbrand is a great achievement as it shows the trust placed in our business by both business leaders and consumers,” said Viktor Boczán, country manager of Provident Romania. “I’m also pleased our Marketing and PR teams have been recognised by their industry peers and that we are able to effectively communicate our important role in a well-functioning and competitive consumer finance market.”

For the 12 months ended 31 December 2016, IPF’s Southern European business, which includes Hungary and Romania, had 630,000 customers and credit issued increased year-on-year by 17%.
